Real Estate Agent
at Brokerage Firm
Describe the path you took to become a real estate agent
I interned at a firm right after college, which paved the way where I am now. My boss and I started it from the ground up and we’ve doubled our commissions year over year since 2015.
What's a day in the life of a real estate agent?
Everyday is a new day. There’s nothing routine about it. Sometimes you’re putting in 30 hours per week and others 80.
What's the best part of being a real estate agent?
The best part of the job is constantly meeting new clients who all have a story to tell. You never know what’s going to generate from a lead. Sometimes it’s nothing, sometimes it can be a year making deal, which always keeps me thirsty for finding the next one.
What's the downside of being a real estate agent? Words of caution?
Our deals generally flow with how the economy is doing, which can be scary because typically the job is over 50% commission based. You need to be comfortable going paycheck to paycheck early on in your career because it takes time to build rapport with others in the industry.
