What's a day in the life of a commercial real estate finance?

Sourcing opportunities to finance the acquisition or construction of commercial real estate properties for institutional and corporate borrowers. Deals are usually sourced through your network and via referrals. Work hours vary depend on your sales goals and number of deals in pipeline. Overall very good work/life balance.

What's the best part of being a commercial real estate finance?

There is nothing better than watching a large building come out of the ground knowing you were part of it, that you had a part in the making of the skyline. I like working in real estate because the underlying product is something tangible. You can see and touch your successes in a different way than a lot of industries.

Flexible schedule, expense account, travel, strong networking community

What's the downside of being a commercial real estate finance? Words of caution?

Very cyclical business that requires you to prepare during the good times for the inevitable bad times. This is especially true in a commission based role in a brokerage or a finance company.
